The TV-guide supplement in daily newspapers are a typical SC product.

SC paper is produced from a mix of spruce groundwood pulp, kraft pulp and filler – for the most part finely-ground clay. A large proportion of recycled fiber is also used in production. Unlike the process for LWC paper, all the ingredients are mixed to form a thin, strong, opaque paper that finally acquires its superior printing characteristics when it is pressed between hot rolls under high pressure - super calandered.
