| Our product range includes glossy,
wood-containing natural papers suitable for use in magazines,
newspaper supplements, catalogues and brochures. Each product
has its own characteristics and has to satisfy different requirements,
depending on their application |
|
| and the printing process
used. The demands made on all our products are stringent: high
press runability and excellent printability are a must. |

| Laakirchen’s
standard products - GraphoGravure
and GraphoGrande
for rotogravure printing and GraphoSet
for offset printing – are regarded as the best choice
by many of the mill’s customers among the leading publishing
and printing companies. These papers have particularly good
printing qualities. |
| |
|
|
The new paper machine PM 11 (start-up in
2002) not only increased the mill’s capacity but enabled
to broaden Laakirchen’s product range as well as to
complement SCA’s range of publication papers for offset
printing. |

|
The
new product GraphoNova has set a totally new
standard in the uncoated mechanical paper segment. This paper
provides a performance that was previously only possible with
LWC.
The lately introduced
GraphoPrestige is a premium printing paper
for rotogravure printing and offers very high brightness and
printed gloss. |

Environment
- Laakirchen has also played a pioneering role through its environmental
work.
The mill uses a high proportion of recycled paper in its production,
without compromising on product quality. Laakirchen was also
one of |
 |
|
the
first paper producers to go over to exclusive use of TCF (totally
chlorine-free) kraft pulp – of which Östrand is a
key supplier. The mill has also been praised for its success
in reducing the amount of waste from the plant, achieved partly
by finding new application areas for residual products.
Ultramodern technologies, efficient measures, ecological
far-sightedness and the striving for constant improvements
are all characteristics of environmental management as it
is performed at SCA Graphic Laakirchen.
